what are the basic beliefs of islam

Islam is the name of peace. Islam is the name of harmony. The followers of Islam are called Muslims. Islam shows us the right path. The path where a Muslim can reach to his Creator.

For a Muslim it is obligatory to have some firm belief. Anyone who denies the basic beliefs cannot be called a Muslim that’s why these beliefs are called basic beliefs.

Before in the detail discussion of beliefs let us know the word ‘Islam and Deen’ meanings.’Islam‘ is derived from the Arabic root “Salema”: peace, purity, so and obedience.

In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the will of ALLAH (SUBHANA WO TAHALA!) and obedience to HIS law.The word ‘Deen’ is used in the Arabic language to give different meanings most important of these meanings are Subjugation, Authority, Ruling and Having Charge.

These four linguistic meanings constitute the concept of the word “Deen” in the Holy Quran where it implies a comprehensive system of life.After just a touch of the basic concept of these two important words we are moving towards the basic beliefs. Keep reading till end.

what are the basic beliefs of Islam

 The greatest blessing conferred on human beings by Islam is the concept of and belief in oneness of ALLAH (Subhana wo Tahala). It is surely said that beliefs are the soul of Islam, in the same way the core beliefs is oneness of Allah.

HE alone is the CREATOR, SUSTAINER AND MASTER of the whole universe. HE has supremacy and HE has the supreme Intelligence. (Of course!)HE is ETERNAL. HE is Just and He has full command over the whole universe. HE is worthy to be prayed and worshipped.

Allah is unique and nonpareil in HIS being as well as HIS attributes. All the messengers of ALLAH preached this belief amidst infliction of severe atrocities to them.

As no new prophet shall come till the day of judgement, hence it is not only the duty of Islamic scholars to carry on this light of guidance forward, but it is obligatory on every member of Muslim Ummah to play a key role in intellectual and Practical fields to combat these challenges.

 *_Who is the Creator_*? Allah (Subhana wo Tahala) says in the Holy Quran:

  “Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.”

Atheists believe that the alternation of days and nights lead them to their doom. As it is in Surah Jathia:

 “And they say, “There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time.” And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.”

*_There is no flaw in the creation of Allah (Subhana Wo  Tahala)_* :-      ALLAH (Subhana wo Tahala) says:

“[It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things. Indeed.”In another place it is said;

“[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

“Surely, such a claim can only be made by such a mighty being who is One, highly intellectual and the greatest LORD!It was a short summary of the first and most important basic belief. Now we move to the second most important basic belief.

Being a Muslim it is obligatory having a firm belief on all the Prophets and messengers sent by ALLAH (Subhana wo Tahala). Those Prophets and messengers were sent according to situation, time, and place just for the guidance of people.

At last Allah sent the last prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and no prophet shall come after Him as it is said in the Holy Quran:

“Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah , of all things, Knowing.”

ALLAH (SUBHANA WO TAHALA) Conferred a great favor on mankind when HE sent a great messenger to them by opening the doors of His infinitely countless blessings on humans. The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) has been introduced in the Holy Quran:

*The Prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW)* :-

“Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.”   The third basic belief is given under-mentioned;

Being a Muslim it is necessary have a firm belief about hereafter.Every living will die one day. It is Crystal cleared in the Holy Quran:

“Every soul will taste death.”After death the hereafter starts immediately. A dead body which was a living body some moments before will be an answerable for all of his or her activities before Allah (Subhana Wo Tahala).Let me discuss this important belief in the light of  Holy Quran.

    “Those who denied Our signs and the meeting of the Hereafter – their deeds have become worthless. Are they recompensed except for what they used to do?”In another place it is said:

“Everyone upon the earth will perish.”The fourth basic belief is also mentioned here;

Muslim should have a basic belief in Angels. They are made  of light (Noor) as human is made by clay. Angels worship every time before their LORD!

     اِنَّ  الَّذِیۡنَ عِنۡدَ رَبِّکَ لَا یَسۡتَکۡبِرُوۡنَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِہٖ وَ یُسَبِّحُوۡنَہٗ وَ لَہٗ یَسۡجُدُوۡنَ (7:206

Translation:-   “Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate.” So this is why we should have a firm belief in Angels.The fifth one is mentioned below;

Belief in the holy books sent to all the prophets including Torah that was revealed to the prophet Moses, Bible that was revealed to the prophet Jesus, and the Holy Qur’an that was revealed to the greatest prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW!).

Belief in divine decree. This means that God is all-powerful and nothing can happen without His permission, however, he has given human beings freedom to choose whether to be good or bad.

In the end, everyone will be questioned about how they lived in this life. It was a brief summary regarding basic beliefs in Islam.Thanks for reading.

*NOTE* :-

It is requested that implement Islam you yourself and spread as well. If you come across any sort of mistake please mention in the given emails. If you have further any sort of suggestions you can also send us through emails. It would be a great pleasure!JazakAllah Khair!
